Tracy Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and a mental health freelance and ghostwriter. Tracy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University and a Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Monmouth University. Tracy has been in the mental health field for the past twelve years and has worked in a variety of locations including partial care hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, community agencies, group practice, and outpatient settings. Tracy developed and piloted an adolescent intensive outpatient program in a community mental health setting in 2013, which is still thriving today. Tracy is a clinical supervisor and currently oversees a school-based program with the Community YMCA. Tracy is passionate about writing to educate readers about mental health and to provide linkage to resources.

Her writing has appeared on E-Counseling.com and has had several guest postings on marriage.com as a ghostwriter. During her undergraduate studies at Rutgers University, Tracy participated in undergraduate research in the area of industrial and organizational psychology. Tracy continues to freelance by writing about mental health topics, marriage and relationships, and trauma linked to first responders.

When she is not working, Tracy enjoys spending time with her husband and twins in New Jersey. Tracy likes to read, take walks, and grab a cup of coffee with friends.
